Bryan Blehm, an attorney for We The People AZ Alliance, filed the complaint, and the issue concerns discrepancies in ballot chain of custody documentation, with roughly 81% of the 1,311,734 Maricopa County 2022 election voters having voted by mail and had their ballot sent to Runbeck for signature verification. Kari Lake’s lawsuit regarding the missing documentation of over 35,000 ballots sent between Runbeck’s warehouse and Maricopa County was also confirmed by the Arizona Supreme Court, issuing sanctions for Lake’s attorneys over their factual claims regarding chain of custody. Nonetheless, the Court denied Defendants’ attorneys’ fees, and the sanction for just $2,000 to the Court was a joke.</p><p>We The People AZ Alliance is suing Runbeck and Maricopa County under the same circumstances that Cyber Ninjas was sued for denying a public records request. They are seeking lawful public records requests for footage of Runbeck’s facility, which could prove that over 35,563 unauthorized ballots were added to the count. Runbeck claimed they have “no legal obligation to do so” and its attorney had also represented Katie Hobbs in Lake’s lawsuit. However, Runbeck, despite being a private company, must comply with Arizona’s Public Records Law based on established case law in the Arizona Court of Appeals.</p>
