Have you ever thought about wrapping your RV with a neat design? Maybe you were camping and saw a rig that had a cool wrap? Or, perhaps your RV is old and outdated and needs a little sprucing up?

No matter what the reason, RV wrap designs can be a fun way to change the appearance of your RV. Some RVers opt to wrap their entire RV, a section of it, or to apply graphics in small areas.

In this article, we’re going to explain what RV wraps are, what RV wraps cost, and if they’re worth it. We’re also going to share some RV wrap designs from some members of our RV Lifestyle Facebook community.

An RV wrap goes by many names, like vehicle, car, or fleet wraps. No matter what you call them, the term refers to wrapping an RV (recreational vehicle) with custom-designed vinyl graphics to create a unique and eye-catching look.

RV wrap designs can range from simple color changes to intricate graphic designs, and they are a popular way to personalize and brand your RV or travel trailer.

An RV wrap can give your rig a great design without giving it a new paint job. Whether you own converted vans or toy haulers, you can find wrap options in many different designs and color schemes. Many companies specializing in food truck, boat, and bus wraps can also customize unique rigs for RVers.

Creating an RV vinyl wrap design typically involves working with a graphic designer or design team to develop a custom design that meets the client’s specifications. The design is then printed onto high-quality vinyl wrap material and applied to the RV’s exterior.

RV wrap designs can be fully customized to reflect various styles, from sleek and modern to bold and playful. They can also be used to promote businesses or organizations by incorporating logos, branding elements, and contact information into the design.

The cost of an RV wrap can vary widely depending on several factors, including the RV’s size, the design’s complexity, and the type of vinyl material used.

A complete RV wrap can cost anywhere from $2,500 to $15,000. A smaller partial wrap, such as one that covers only the sides or back of a small RV, can cost between $1,000 to $5,000.

The type of vinyl material used can also affect the cost of an RV wrap. The higher quality and more specialized the vinyl, the higher the price. There are various types of vinyl, including basic cast vinyl, premium cast vinyl, and special effects vinyl, such as reflective or metallic finishes.

If you already have an RV with an excellent original paint job, you can consider wrapping just part to give it an excellent design versus doing a full vehicle wrap.

It is important to note that the cost of an RV wrap can also depend on the location and experience level of the wrap installer. Some professional installers with much expertise will charge more than newer installers. It is recommended to get quotes from multiple wrap installers and ask for references and examples of their previous work.

Overall, while RV wraps can be a significant investment, they offer a unique and customizable way to personalize and protect an RV, making it stand out.

A high-quality RV wrap can last 5-7 years, though many say 4-5 years is the norm. You can extend the lifespan of the wrap by keeping the RV clean and free from debris. Keeping your RV covered when not in use can also significantly improve RV wrap lifespan.

There are many different benefits of wrapping your RV. However, you must weigh those benefits with the cost to determine if its worth it for you. As we mentioned above, a full RV wrap design can cost up to $15,000.

So, you may have to compromise between size, type, and quality. Or forego an RV wrap altogether. Here are the benefits of an RV wrap to consider…

In addition to their aesthetic appeal, RV wraps offer practical benefits, such as protecting the RV’s original surface from scratches and UV damage. They essentially work like a protective barrier around your motorhome.

They can also be easily removed or updated as needed, making them a flexible and cost-effective way to enhance the look of an RV. This is especially true if your RV wrap design is used to promote your business.

Overall, an RV wrap design is a unique and versatile way to make an RV stand out and reflect the owner’s personality or brand.

An RV wrap can protect the vehicle’s exterior from scratches, chips, and other damage during travel. The vinyl material is durable and resistant to the elements, which can help prevent fading, rusting, and different types of wear and tear.

A wrap can be customized to display a unique design or color scheme that matches the owner’s preferences. This can be particularly appealing for those who want to stand out on the road or showcase their style.

Compared to a complete paint job, an RV wrap can be more cost-effective, especially if the owner wants to change the design or color scheme.

A well-maintained RV with a high-quality wrap can increase the vehicle’s resale value.

An RV wrap can also be used for advertising purposes. A business owner who operates an RV can use a wrap to promote their brand or product while on the road.

Overall, an RV wrap can provide both practical and aesthetic benefits for RV owners and is a worthwhile investment for those looking to protect and personalize their vehicle.

One of our Facebook RV Lifestyle members recently asked real RVers how they wrapped their RVs. She posted:

What do y’all think about wrapping your RV? I’d love to see some of your RV wrap designs, too.

There were nearly 300 responses, complete with great photos of their rigs! I was blown away to see the different vehicle wraps out there!

One RV, Keegan, shared a photo of his 1492 Coachworks wrapped in a gun-metal grey. It is classic and understated and does not contain any other decals.

Many RVers like to wrap their RVs with a photo they love, such as a sunset or vineyard.

For example, Anita submitted a photo showing their RV wrapped with gorgeous pictures of their RV farm.

Another member, Bill, showed off his rig that features his favorite family photo with a purple, orange, and white background.

You could choose an RV wrap that has a humorous theme. One RV Lifetyler submitted a photo that shows a friend’s rig. It was wrapped to look like a rusted, old RV!

Some folks like whimsical photos. One RV Lifestyle member shared a photo of her rig wrapped in honeycomb and honey bees. Her rig is only partially covered and matches the rest of the paint.

Another real RVer, Jeanette, shared her rig wrapped in various colors of flower stickers.

Another thing that folks like to do is wrap their rigs with their business information.

One RV Lifestyle member Tori showed off her rig advertising their mobile dog grooming business.

Some folks like displaying their favorite show, movie, or other popular media item. One RV Lifestyler included a photo of their truck tailgate wrapped with Kung Fu Panda.

Some people enjoy wrapping their rigs with a tougher-looking exterior. One popular style is using camouflage to cover their RV. Or including military symbols or logos.
