The newest addition to the PENN Battle Series boasts new technology that better protects the reel from saltwater intrusion and corrosion. Called Hydro Armor, it features additional seals strategically placed in key areas, including the handle, under the dust cap, and beneath the spool on the main shaft, which adds protection without compromising on weight. An updated spool design eliminates through-holes in the spool body, to better prevent intrusion from the elements. These enhancements help to ensure protection from unwanted water, dirt, and sand from infiltrating the reel’s body and handle.

The PENN Battle series features PENN’s CNC Gear Technology and an HT-100 Carbon Fiber Drag System. It also boasts a durable full metal body and side plate, a spool
ready for superline without requiring backing, and convenient line capacity rings. Additionally, it incorporates a 5+1 sealed, stainless-steel ball bearing system for smooth operation.

The PENN Battle IV is available in nine sizes, ranging from a 1000 size to a 10000 size, and includes a sleek matte appearance and impressive finishes. Also offered are DX models in 2500 to 8000 sizes, available exclusively through PENN dealers. With the DX range an additional stainless steel bearing is added, and the CNC machined gear is upgraded from aluminum to brass.

The PENN Battle IV is also offered as a combo in 16 different models with either cork, EVA, or shrink tube grips varying by model. The combo is also available in LE models offering integrated, ergonomic golf grips, adding a more comfortable in the hand feel.
