Lake Winnipesaukee, the largest lake in New Hampshire, is located in the Lakes Region at the foothills of the White Mountains. It has a large population of both largemouth and smallmouth bass.
Timing: Summer
Technique: Jerkbait
“Although many people focus their jerkbait efforts on spring and fall, Lake Winnipesaukee’s deep, clear water allows for the pattern to continue all year. I look for abundant grass in 17 to 27 feet of water where perch schools are present. The Strike King KVD 300 has the ability to cover that water column when fished with 10-pound fluorocarbon. The key is making long casts with very few pauses. I fish this technique on any given day, but windy days can be more productive. This is a great tactic to mix with forward-facing sonar since you can see how the fish are reacting in real time.”
