NextImg:The Best Campgrounds Near NFL Stadiums

Football season has arrived, so it’s time for tailgating and weekends at the stadium. Today, we’re looking at a few NFL stadiums and nearby campgrounds where you can plan your weekend getaway to support your favorite team.

If you want to host an epic tailgating party this fall, you better start making reservations now!

Very few NFL stadiums allow overnight camping. In fact, the only stadium that allows overnight RV parking is Highmark Stadium, home of the Buffalo Bills. You’ll need to find campgrounds or RV parks nearby to attend an NFL game anywhere else.

While most NFL stadiums don’t allow overnight stays, many permit game-day RV parking. Most have designated RV lots, so you can’t just pull in anywhere.

Gates often open around 8:00 a.m., giving you time to find an ideal RV parking spot and start cooking chicken wings and burgers. For tips on how to throw a fantastic tailgate party, check out our article “Go Big Or Go Home: RV Tailgate Like a Pro.”

Although most stadiums have RV parking lots, checking individual stadium rules before arriving is essential. A few locations won’t allow RVs at all. You’ll need to leave your rig at a nearby campground and drive or catch a ride to the stadium for the game.

The biggest tip we can give is to book early. Fans everywhere are making plans to come to NFL games each season. Nearby campgrounds fill up quickly. So plan ahead as much as possible.

It’s also worth noting that some campgrounds in the Northeast and Midwest close in October or November. If you want to catch a Thanksgiving Day game, your campground options will be limited in certain parts of the country.

Besides planning early, you’ll need to expect to pay more. Rates will be higher during football season in areas where NFL stadiums are located. You must also consider how you’ll get to the stadium if you’re not taking your RV.

Some campgrounds offer shuttle services, while others don’t. If you call an Uber before and after the game, this could be an added expense.

There are 32 NFL teams, but we’ve chosen seven more popular stadium locations.

If we’ve left out your team, we’re sorry! But here are some of the best options for RV camping if you’re visiting the Jets, Giants, Packers, Bears, Chiefs, Bills, Cowboys, or Saints this season.

Amenities: You can see the Statue of Liberty from Liberty Harbor RV Park, the closest campground to New York City. You’ll find electric and water campsites for rigs of all sizes.

You also have a dump station on site, along with laundry facilities and bathhouses. You can also eat at a restaurant on the property from May to October.

It’s one of the most expensive campgrounds on this list but the most convenient for RVers wanting to see a Giants or Jets football game or enjoy the city for a day.

Address: 949 Tony Canadeo Run, Green Bay, WI 54304

Amenities: You will pay at the gate in order to enter Packer RV Parking. You won’t need to make a reservation. Lambeau Field lies just a mile from the parking lot, so you don’t even have to catch a ride to the game if you don’t mind walking.

You’ll find no amenities here, so you’re paying for the convenience of being a couple of blocks away from the Packers stadium. It’s a huge parking lot with ample room for even the largest motorhomes or toy haulers.

Nightly Rate: $20-35

It’s time to fire up the grill, grab the fleece blankets, and paint faces red, blue, green, and yellow.

Although most NFL stadiums won’t allow overnight RV parking, you can find convenient locations nearby to host a tailgate party, congregate with other fans, and have an easy drive to the stadium.
