


It’s no longer a surprise that side-by-sides have taken over the recreational and racing off-road market. Can-Am’s new Maverick R just finished 1st overall at the BITD Silver State 300, beating every trophy truck, race car, motorcycle and ATV in the process – who saw that coming?
At the same time, the SXS aftermarket has exploded with new products that range from 300-plus-horsepower turbo and supercharger kits to $11,000 roof mounted sound systems, suspension systems are being upgraded to accept 35-inch tires and beyond, heavy rooftop tents are becoming a thing for the multi-day adventure seeker, and we’re adding even more weight with chromoly cages and glass windshields. Even without all of that extra weight and power, most side-by-side braking systems can be described as adequate at best. A good set of brakes will make you faster by setting up corners quicker rather than blowing through them.
