A DIRT WHEELS FAN WRITES: “We have a 2016 Polaris Ranger XP900 Crew in their Pursuit Camo. It has been a reliable transport for our hunting party for eight years now. However, it either needs a lot of work or we need to replace it with a newer model. Well, the group voted to fix what is worn out on the “Crew” as we call it. Initially, our group wanted the 2015 model but because Polaris refused to put the 68-Hp motor from the XP900 in the Crew, we waited another year and got the 2016 with the six-seat option. Other than adding doors and a windshield, and eventually better tires, the “Crew” is stock. It needs bearings, bushings and shocks because there is grinding in turns and the suspension squeaks and leaks oil. We started pricing out the factory Polaris parts, and it almost looks like it would be cheaper to trade her for a slightly newer used crew. What would be your suggestion, Boss?”

OUR PRO ANSWER: Yes, I can imagine what a shock it was when you started pricing out individual OEM Polaris parts. Luckily, you have one of the most popular brands and models made. So that means that the Aftermarket has you covered with parts. Your shocks are air/oil dampers, and you can get a set of four gas shocks for your “Crew” from Moto 1988 for under $400. Many online stores carry them as well as Amazon. Most or all of your bushings can be had as a kit from Polaris, P/N 2830560 here: https://www.polaris.com/en-us/shop/off-road/maintenance/heavy-duty-parts/2830560/. For the wheel bearings, I would look to All Balls’ four-wheel bearing kit here: https://www.amazon.com/All-Bearing-Wheels-Polaris-Ranger/dp/B01KAXSV3E.
