It’s been an interesting couple of years for powersports. The whole COVID nightmare turned a lot of things upside down, including the ATV market. No one will argue that COVID put some stress on the industry, but the longer the lockdown went, the more powersports units were sold. That’s the upside. Things were very bright until the supply chain failure started rearing its ugly head. The failure was understandable. Some businesses had to shut down due to sick workers, and that delayed raw materials, getting parts and shipping parts (and units). One hiccup or delay in the supply chain ends up delaying putting an ATV together.
But the dust has settled, and the ATV segment has gained a few models for model year 2023, but also some units have been dropped from various manufacturers’ lineups. Suzuki, Polaris, Can-Am and Tracker Off-road are among the companies to pare down their ATV lineups.
Still, there are 100-plus models in this issue for you to review. We’ve included the specs for each ATV, as well as highlights of the features offered for those models.
Can-Am unveiled its Intelligent Engine: Braking (iEB) system on select models. It will be interesting to see how that technology unfolds and what advantages it offers.
Please note that Kymco and CFMoto did not have 2023 model specs and photos ready before we went to press with this issue. However, by the time you read this, we’re hoping that information will have been posted on their respective company websites, which are listed below. The specs listed for those two brands are for model year 2022.
We told you in last year’s “Buyer’s Guide” about Segway’s new ATVs. We were very tempted to include the Segway Snarler last year but didn’t, and chose to not do so again this year. As far as we can tell, they’re only available for purchase in Canada. In the meantime, you can take a gander at them here: http://segwaypowersports.com/.
With this many new ATVs, you should have an easy time finding something you like. For more information on those models that interest you, we encourage you to visit your local dealer and do a little online research.
