Tuna Fighters! NEW West Coast Series PENN Carnage III Rods

PENN has brought out its newest addition to the Carnage III line of rods, the new Carnage III Boat Conventional West Coast Series Rods. This is a new series of Carnage III that is comprised of seven new rods designed to meet the demands of anglers fighting large bluefin and yellowing tuna off the West Coast. This includes specialized rail rod models that are longer and more robustly built to keep anglers from being under-gunned on the rail while fighting these tuna.

In recent years there has been a surge of large tuna catches on the West Coast, with 100lb+ bluefin being a regular occurrence. To adapt to these larger fish the West Coast anglers modified their gear and fishing style to match the big fish. That is where rail rods come in, sturdier long rods that have a longer front grip section. Built so anglers can use the rail on the long-range tuna boats to fight these tuna with incredible efficiency. The four Carnage III rail rod models are built on a 7’6″ SLS3 construction blank, equipped with high-end rod components like Fuji HB-series guides, Sea-Guide aluminum reel seats, and custom Hypalon and rubber shrink tube handles. Besides just the rail rods there are three other West Coast fishing style centric boat rods as well, ranging from a 80 Lb sinker rig models to heavier, longer, and general-purpose boat rods.
