The Berkley Finisher – Forward-Facing Sonar Optimization

   01.18.24

Berkley Fishing’s second offering in their newest line of forward-facing sonar-optimized baits is the new Finisher. A new hard “hovering” bait is optimized to stay in the fish’s strike zone for as long as possible. As well as to have great lateral motion when worked through the water column while having minimal retrieve progression. These unique abilities let anglers have maximum control of the lure to use it with forward-facing sonar keep working the bait as effectively as possible and respond to the fish reactions in real-time.

The Finisher is reminiscent of a glide bait that many walleye anglers are familiar with, except this lure is fin-less. The Finisher is also capable of being fished like a jerk bait for bass. It is capable of delivering strike-producing day after day in various scenarios that forward-facing sonar unlocks for anglers. The eyelet on the Finisher is positioned horizontally on the top of the head giving the lure a large range of side-to-side motion. The body of the lure has a weight-forward design that allows the lure to be precisely cast, sink rapidly into the strike zone, and have a wide range of action that can draw a strike from the tightest-lipped fish. The modern finless design brings the Finisher to the cutting edge of modern hard bait design, and performance. The Berkley Finisher is available now in 3 sizes, 5cm, 7cm, 9cm, and in a plethora of colors.

“The Finisher is the first of its kind, a hovering hard bait we call it,” said Spengler. “It truly gives anglers ultimate control of their bait. Being able to manipulate it in several ways based on what fish are responding to, especially when pairing this bait with forward-facing sonar. What makes this bait unique is that it has no fin structure, which can allow it to do a multitude of actions. From erratic darting to natural minnow-like tail movement, what makes the Finisher deadly is its flat bottom which allows it to hover or hang in the water column. A bait with such diversity truly allows anglers to have control of how they’re interacting with fish on forward-facing sonar.”
