Smith & Wesson Response 9mm Carbine w M&P & G17/G19 FlexMag Kits

   10.19.23

Smith & Wesson has had one pistol caliber carbine (PCC) out on the market for a number of months now in their FPC (Folding Pistol Carbine), and now they are adding to that collection with something new. Yesterday, they announced the Response 9mm Carbine that has interchangeable magazine wells (not magwell inserts; the entire magazine well). Oh, and it also takes Glock mags!

Smith & Wesson Coverage on AllOutdoor

The Smith & Wesson Response 9mm Carbine is hailing from the “Response Series” (as written on the Smith & Wesson website) implying that more models are to come in the future. For now, this model has an MSRP of $799 and has everything that people were asking for from the FPC. You have a flat-face trigger with a crisp break, a better free-float handguard for M-LOK accessories, and it has the ability to take not only standard M&P 9mm magazines, but also doublestack Glock mags.

The Smith & Wesson Response breaks barriers for those looking to enter the pistol caliber carbine market. With its innovative Flexmag System, you can use a wide range of double stack 9MM pistol magazines from Smith & Wesson® and other manufacturers. The familiar MSR controls make it an easy transition for those looking to use on the range, and with the ability to change parts with existing MSR accessories, it makes optimizing to your needs easy. Take control with the new Smith & Wesson Response!

This rifle has a fair amount of plastic built into it, but that helps curb the overall weight as well as keep the price down. It is already prepared for a silencer or your preferred muzzle device, and can utilize Smith & Wesson’s patented Palmswell grips. For everybody who has been asking for a better PCC from Smith & Wesson, does this cut it? As always, let us know all of your thoughts about Smith & Wesson in the Comments below! We always appreciate the feedback.
