POTD: It Ain’t No Street Sweeper – The Cobray Ladies Home Companion

Welcome to today’s Photo of the Day! Here we have the Street Sweeper’s smaller sibling. This is the Cobray Ladies Home Companion. The Ladies Home Companion, a firearm produced by Cobray, utilized the frame of their 12-gauge “Street Sweeper” shotgun. It lacked a stock or front grip and was designed for the .45-70 rifle cartridge. With a fixed drum magazine, it held 12 rounds. Although sales were poor, much like the Streetsweeper, it escaped controversy due to its non-offensive name. If you are unfamiliar, the Street Sweeper was widely lobbied against and became an NFA weapon. The Ladies Home Companion did not share that fate but it was unpopular and is considered a terrible gun.
